Welcome to WrittenX Pages. Write on digital paper, flip sides like flashcards, hide or blur text to quiz yourself, and format notes with the toolbar. Your notes save automatically in your browser. Nothing is sent online.
The format toolbar sits in the header next to the ? button. Click inside a paper first so changes apply to the correct page.
- Text styles: Choose Title, Heading 1 to 4, Body, or Description from the style menu.
- Whole line: Click anywhere on a line (no highlight) to style that full line. Title and Description always use the whole line.
- Part of a line: Highlight words first, then pick a style. Only the highlighted text changes.
- Whole note: Press Ctrl + A, then pick a style to update every line at once.
- Style menu label: Shows the style at your cursor so you know what is active.
- Bold, italic, underline: Use the toolbar or the shortcuts below. Picking a text style does not turn on Bold by itself.
- After a heading: Press Enter and the next line returns to normal Body text.
- Lists: Open the list menu for bullets or numbers. Highlight several lines first to turn them into one list.
- Links: Highlight text, then click the link icon or press Ctrl + K.
- Copy and paste: Use Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V as usual. Pasted text keeps normal spacing.

Made a mistake? Ctrl + Z undoes it. Ctrl + Y or Ctrl + Shift + Z puts it back. This works for typing, formatting, links, lists, styles, and tables.
- While typing: One undo usually removes a word or phrase, not just one letter.
- Toolbar changes: Bold, styles, lists, links, and clear formatting each undo separately.
- Tables: If you clear table cells, undo brings the text back first. The table itself is removed only after it is empty.
Add a table from the grid icon in the format toolbar. Click inside a table to open Edit table and work with rows, columns, or the whole table.
- Add a table: Choose a size on the grid, or tap Insert table.
- Change a table: Add or remove rows and columns. You can select the full table, one row, or one column.
- Column width: Drag the small handles between column headers.
- Remove text (keyboard): If cells still have writing, selecting the whole table and pressing Delete or Backspace clears the cells first. Press again when empty to delete the table.
- Empty line beside a table: Backspace on that line only removes the line, not your table data.
- Remove table (menu): Use Edit table, then Delete. Undo (Ctrl + Z) can bring the full table back.
- Last row or column: If cells have text, the first delete clears them. Delete again when empty to remove the table.
- Line above a table: Place the cursor on the line above and press Enter to add a new line. The table moves down with your notes.
- Move between cells: Tab goes to the next cell. Shift + Tab goes back.
Each paper has a front and a back. Write on the front, flip to the back for answers or extra notes. Great for flashcards and self-testing.
